PROPERTIES DEPARTMENT
Properties Designer - position filled
May 17 arrive / August 4 depart
$5,000 stipend / $400 travel / single occupancy dorm housing / 14 meals a week
Minimum Requirements: Advanced skills in management, scheduling, and budgeting. Proficient in woodworking and welding. Advanced skills in molding & casting and finishing techniques. General knowledge of period style. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, safety conscious, and a team player with at least two years of professional experience in properties management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsible for:
-
Work in tandem with the scenic designer to produce drafted and rendered designs for selected properties before the start of the season

Serve as properties designer for the children's production and any other auxilairy productions

Achieve cohesion, within the designer's vision, for the properties for each show
-
Calculate estimated material costs.

Determine plans for executing properties construction and acquistion
-
Manage the crew, delegate tasks, and administer properties assignments.

Teach techniques, provide research images, and isuue step-by-step instuctions to properties crew members for construction and acquistion of properties

Ensre the quality and safety of each prop

Oversee and assist in the construction, or acquisition of all properties for the four-show rotating repertory season, Black box space production, a children's show, and auxiliary shows.

Responsible for organizing and maintaining the properties budget, build and deadline schedule

Perform all duties within the parameters of the allotted budget and production schedule

Participate in opening night discussions
Properties Manager - position filled
May 17 arrive / August 4 depart
$3,500 stipend / $350 travel / double occupancy dorm housing / 14 meals a week
Minimum Requirements: Advanced skills in management, scheduling, bookkeeping, and budgeting. Proficient in woodworking and painting. Knowledge of molding & casting and finishing techniques. General knowledge of period style. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, safety conscious, and a team player with at least two years of professional experience in properties management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsible for:

Communicate with stage managers and directors to maintain a consistently up to date properties list and rehearsal properties needs

Issue call times and coordinate crew member schedules around changeoover and run crew responsibilities

Oversee the department's budget, including any purchases made in stores or online and turning in receiipts and purchasing sheets

Maintain organization of tools in the shop and properties in stock storage
-
Assist with the construction and/or acquistion of properties for the children's production and other auxiliary shows

Properties Artisan - position filled
May 21 arrive / August 4 depart
$3,000 stipend / $350 travel / double occupancy dorm housing / 14 meals a week
Minimum Requirements: Art experience and creative skills preferred. Advanced skills in woodworking and painting. Skills in molding & casting, paint finishing techniques, and paper projects. General knowledge of period style. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, safety conscious, and a team player with at least one year of professional experience in properties and construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsible for:

Properties Carpenter/Artisan - position filled
May 21 arrive / August 4 depart
$2,500 stipend/ double occupancy dorm housing / 14 meals a week
Minimum Requirements: Advanced skills in woodworking and welding. Advanced skills in finishing techniques. General knowledge of period style. Strong multi-tasking and time-management skills. Ideal candidate should be self-motivated, safety conscious, and a team player with at least one year of professional experience in properties and construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsible for:

Completing projects having to do with the construction, restoration, or modification of furniture, set dressing, and hand props built of wood, steel, or other materials.

Construct, modify, or repair furniture/set dressing/hand prop items in the areas of woodworking, metalworking, sculpture, and molding/casting needed for a production.

Assisting other artisans with projects when needed.

Performing all duties within the parameters of the allotted budget and production schedule

Serve on the properties running crew and change-over crew

Participating in opening night discussions

Properties Intern (2)- position filled
May 21 arrive / August 4 depart
$1,250 stipend / double occupancy dorm housing / 14 meals a week
Note: Properties Interns are assigned primarily to the properties department, but may also be reassigned, as needed, to other technical areas.
Responsible for:

Assisting the Properties Artisan in building or acquiring all props for all productions

Serving on properties running and change-over crews

Performing other technical duties as deemed necessary
