Sue Bugg

Orchestra Woodwinds, 21st season

Sue Bugg is a native of Gilmer, Texas and has been playing flute since sixth grade. She is an alumni of Stephen F. Austin State University, and East Texas State University. Sue started her music career as a band director for thirty four years, teaching in Greenville, Jacksonville, and Tyler, Texas. While teaching band, Sue was involved as a flute performer with the East Texas Symphony, Inspiration Point Fine Arts Colony in Arkansas, the Tyler Chamber Orchestra, and has played in pit orchestras of over forty area musicals. She also served as instrumental music director of orchestras at Green Acres Baptist, and Marvin United Methodist churches, both in Tyler. Now retired from public school teaching, she plays for area churches when needed, contracts musicians for area churches, is a private flute instructor in the Tyler area, serves as a judge for All Region/All state flute auditions, solo and ensemble competitions, plays flute with the Longview Symphony and serves as adjunct flute professor for the University of Texas at Tyler, and East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas.
