Lighting Department

Master Electrician

May 18 arrive / August 1 depart

$4,000 stipend / $350 travel / private dorm housing / 14 meals a week

Minimum Requirements: Supervising a 4 member team of electricians through the installation, repair, and maintenance of all elements of the lighting  design and changeovers. The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years of professional theatrical lighting experience with an emphasis in programming ETC Consoles along with one year of experience supervising staff.  Also required is knowledge of industry standard operating procedures, and electrical theory and electrical safety.

Responsible for:

  • Implementing the lighting design for a four-show rotating repertory season, the children’s show, and auxiliary shows as needed
  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining all lighting equipment
  • Supervising and assigning duties to running and change-over crews
  • Serving as the light board operator for at least one show
  • Serve as the deck electrician for at least one show
  • Serving as the Lighting Designer for the children’s show
  • Assisting with company strike
  • Participating in opening night discussions

Assistant Master Electrician

May 18 arrive / August 1 depart

$2,500 stipend / double occupancy dorm housing / 14 meals a week

Minimum Requirements: Assist Master Electrician in supervising a 4 member team of electricians through the installation, repair, and maintenance of all elements of the lighting  design and changeovers. The successful candidate will have a minimum of one year of professional theatrical lighting experience or the educational equivilant with an emphasis in programming ETC Consoles.    Also required is knowledge of industry standard operating procedures, and electrical theory and electrical safety.

Responsible for:

  • Assisting with the implementation of the lighting design for the four-show rotating repertory season, the children’s show, and other auxiliary shows, as needed
  • Serving as the Master Electrician for the children’s show
  • Helping to install, repair, and maintain all lighting equipment
  • Assisting with running and change-over crews
  • Serving as the light board operator for at least one show
  • Serving as deck electrician for at least one show
  • Assisting with company strike
  • Participating in opening night discussions
  • Serve as Lighting Designer for the Chinese Show.

Electrician

May 18 arrive / August 1 depart

$2,000 stipend / double occupancy dorm housing / 14 meals a week

Minimum Requirements: Assist with the hang, focus, and strike of electrics and special effects for all productions; Program and run the lighting console for shows as assigned; Assist with the maintenance and upkeep for all lighting inventory and systems. The successful candidate will have a minimum of one year of professional theatrical lighting experience with an emphasis in programming ETC Consoles or the educational equivalent.  Also required is knowledge of industry standard operating procedures, and electrical theory and electrical safety.

Responsible for:

Lighting Intern

May 18 arrive / August 1 depart

$1,250 stipend / double occupancy dorm housing / 14 meals a week

Minimum Requirements:  Assist with the hang, focus, and strike of electrics and special effects for all productions; Program and run the lighting console for shows as assigned; Assist with the maintenance and upkeep for all lighting inventory and systems. The successful candidate will have a minimum of one year of educational theatrical lighting experience.

Note: Lighting Interns are assigned primarily to the lighting department, but may also be reassigned, as needed, to other technical areas.
