Pre-Show
Introductions
Before each evening performance Tuesday
through Friday, starting
promptly at 6:30 p.m. in the theatre lobby, you are invited to attend
a 15-minute introduction to that evening's production hosted by a Festival
staff member. Admission
is free, but seating is limited.
Post-Show
Talk-Back
Following each opening night performance (June
22, 23, 24, and 25), we invite you to remain in the theatre for a post-show
forum, an informal discussion with the directors, designers, and cast
members. Your
questions and comments are welcome!
The
Shakespeare Garden
A garden filled with flowers, shrubs, herbs and trees mentioned in William
Shakespeare's plays is a new addition to the East Texas area. Appropriately
named the Texas Shakespeare Garden, it is located between the Anne Dean
Turk Fine Arts Center and the Child Development Center on the Kilgore
College Campus.
Kilgore
Improvement and Beautification Association member Nelda Lewis provided
the original inspiration for the garden. Ms. Lewis researched the project
for two years, making sure it is as authentic as possible, and she also
gave the first donation to the project. Backed by many people in the
community, the garden was completed with donations from garden clubs,
civic groups and private citizens.
The
plants in the garden are perennials and will return each spring. The
Kilgore Improvement and Beautification Association have donated the
garden to Kilgore College and dedicated it to TSF Artistic Director
Raymond Caldwell.
Open
Changeover
Have you ever wondered how the sets are put together for each performance? After
each weekend matinee you are invited to watch
the changeover of set and lights. A TSF company member will informally
narrate each changeover. Admission is free.
