DIRECTORS

Director (4)- positions filled

May 16 arrive / July 1 depart

Salary $5,000 for the 6-week contract / up to $400 travel / private dorm housing / 11 meals a week

All directing applicants must have previous and appropriate experience in directing the type of play for which they are applying – Shakespeare, musicals, or plays with heightened language. Previous experience outside academia, at regional theatres, or other festivals is an asset. 

Directors must work within a brief rehearsal schedule as part of a four-show rotating repertory, with limited budgets, personnel, space, and actors of varying degrees of training and experience. 

Children’s Show Director- position filled

Salary $1,500 / up to $400 travel / private dorm housing / 11 meals a week

Responsible for:

Directing the children’s play, which rehearses for two weeks once the four-show rotating repertory has opened. Must work within a brief rehearsal schedule, limited budgets, personnel, space, and actors of varying degrees of training and experience. 
 

Music Director- position filled

May 16 arrive / July 31st depart
Salary $5,000-$7000 / up to $400 travel / private dorm housing / 11 meals a week

Responsible for:

● Working as music director and conductor for the musical, Sweeney Todd
● Orchestra reduction (if needed), and running rehearsals with local orchestra members

● Serving other productions with musical assistance in the season as needed 
● Assisting directors and actors, as needed, with anything related to singing
● If piano player, an additional $2000 is provided to serve as rehearsal and pit pianist

 

Vocal Director- position filled

May 16 arrive / July 1 depart
Salary $5,000 / up to $400 travel / private dorm housing / 11 meals a week

Responsible for:

● Working with all directors to elicit maximum vocal clarity and expression from each actor
● Coaching actors in private tutorial sessions addressing voice production (breathing, phonation, articulation, resonation)

● Working with Shakespearean text, accents, and dialects
● Assisting directors and actors, as needed, with characterization and interpretation
● Participating in opening night discussions
